As part of dynamic Tax team, you will contribute to ensuring compliance of all customs regulations and tax laws which affect the company. You will be in charge of all customs matters by mitigating the relevant risks and advise duty saving opportunities in compliance with relevant regulations and FTAs, and also provide consulting and training to relevant functions. You will also be able to lead the process of customs audits and interact with customs authorities to address challenges with the support of both internal and external advisors. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT - Contract Type: Permanent - Work location: Philip Morris Korea, 10, Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Korea YOUR ‘DAY TO DAY’ • Proactively find customs control areas (including but not limited to duty payments and duty drawback, FTAs, import requirements, bonded warehouse management, etc.) and provide consulting to the business in an accurate and timely manner based on information of other functions and departments; identify and mitigate any potential customs risks to reduce any significant duty or penalty assessments by the customs authority • Identify duty/tax/levy saving opportunities and improvable areas from a customs compliance perspective in line with new laws or regulation including FTA, business structure, activity change, and etc.; propose duty/tax/levy saving ideas to business to obtain best benefit from available tax incentive programs in line with tax compliance • Identify customs risks and conduct trainings to related functions and employees to increase awareness; develop, design and implement principles and processes to address identified risk areas and internal requirements in close cooperation with relevant functions; keep proper documentation for tax and customs compliance / controls review and test • Deeply understand the impact of prepared, submitted information and develop counter-arguments with supporting evidential documents against auditors' challenges and arguments during audits and appeal processes; actively engage with customs authorities in addressing challenges to best defend tax position of company • Conduct Transfer Pricing (TP) study and documentation; manage any TP issues from both customs and international tax perspectives to address most challenged areas by tax/customs authority • Lead or contribute to ad hoc special Project team; inform Tax manager, related functions and global tax team on the potential issues regarding customs and tax environment, and proactively initiate the preparation to reduce the relevant tax/customs risks • Manage and maintain local and global tax control and compliance system efficiently WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or related fields • At least 5 to 6 years of experience in customs, accounting or tax advisory firms • In-depth knowledge, strong expertise and professional experiences in customs matters • Good understanding in Corporate Income Tax, VAT or Inter-company Pricing is preferable • Certified (Chartered) Accountant or Certified (Chartered) Tax or equivalent is preferable • Good command of written and spoken English and Korean WHAT WE OFFER Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
